Attractions and Activities

Arthur Marshall Loxahatchee National Park

This park is one of Boynton Beach’s most visited tourist attractions. This intelligently planned reserve for wildlife species is not your usual ecological sanctuary. The atmosphere in the reserve is calm so you can have the best conditions to observe the wildlife of the city at their best. Beautiful floral species and fascinating birds can also be found in this wildlife reserve.

Mangrove National Pak

Nature lovers will be awed at the abundant green trails and tropical vegetation all over the park. Located just near the Boynton Beach Marina, the park can be reached by foot, bike or car. The park is lined by a forest of Mangrove tress and a boardwalk.

Walking halfway through the boardwalk, you can alight a platform so you can see the Intracoastal water way below. From this view you will also be able to view the new rock walls constructed to give Snook and brackish fish their habitat. The boardwalk goes around the entire park.

Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands

This wetlands is home to wildlife of the area like alligators, water birds and native plants. You can stroll the park through the 1.5 mile boardwalk and get the best view of the wetlands. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the boardwalk and you walk to see the wetland’s exhibits. You may also join one of their education programs and learn about Florida’s wetland animals and water resources through interactive exhibits.

Boynton Inlet

Amateurs and angling purists can go fishing, snorkeling and diving in the Boynton Inlet.

Harvey E. OyerJr.. Park

This park is located on the Boynton Beach’s maritime community, on the Intracoastal Waterway. It is very close to the Boynton Beach Inlet. It is an 8-acre park with waters good for fishing. On the park are boat docks, barbeque pits and various amenities for a memorable day. While at the park, take to the water and you might just see the Manatee who is a frequent beach visitor as well.

Boynton Beach Oceanfront Park

This beach which spans all of 12 acres is a favorite family destination. The walnut Brazilian inspired boardwalk , shaded walkways , benches and a lot of parking slots makes for an enjoyable stay at the beach. The kids will also enjoy the playground with the amazingly large sculpture of a sea turtle. Off the coast, divers will enjoy seeing the four sunken ships which is part of the Artificial Reefs Program of Florida. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available for a minimal fee and there are concessionaires for salads, sandwiches, and ice cream. The beach is best for swimming, snorkeling and enjoying the sunrise and sunset.

Seacrest Scrub Natural Area

A lot of the plant species in this natural area is native to the scrub ecosystem of Florida. There are a lot of endangered species of plants here including the rosemary plant with large flowers, Curtiss' milkweed,pine pinweed, nodding pinweed and the banded and twisted air plant. The area has scrubby pine flatwoods communities and Florida scrubs. This area is one of only a few remaining sites for scrubs in the south of Palm Beach County. This plant community can only be found in Florida and is an important component of the heritage of Palm Beach County. Beaches and the wildlife parks are not all there is in Boynton Beach.
